프란시스 교황이 최근에 미사에서 이런 말로 강론했다고 한다.
"말하자면 신앙이 양조장을 거치면서 이념(이데올로기)이 되는 겁니다.
이념은 사람들을 환영하지 않습니다.
이념 속에 예수님 - 인자하시고, 사랑스러우시고, 온유하신 예수님은 없습니다.
이념은 늘 경직되어 있는 것입니다. 이념의 가장 큰 표징이 경직성입니다.
그리스도인이 이념의 제자가 되면 신앙을 잃어버리는 것입니다. 그런 사람은 더 이상 예수님의 제자가 아니라 자기 사고방식의 제자입니다.
바로 이련 이유 때문에 예수님께서 그런 사람들에게 '너희는 지식의 열쇠를 치워 버렸다' 라고 하신 것입니다. ..
예수님을 아는 지식이 이념적, 도덕적 지식으로 탈바꿈하여 여러가지 요구사항들을 만들어 냄으로 문을 닫아버리는 것입니다...
신앙이 이념이 됩니다. 이념은 겁을 줍니다. 이념은 사람들을 몰아냅니다. 사람들에게 거리를 두게 하고, 사람들의 교회를 멀어지게 만듭니다.
이념적 그리스도인들 - 이것은 심각한 질병입니다. "
The faith passes, so to speak, through a distiller and becomes ideology. And ideology does not beckon [people]. In ideologies there is not Jesus: in his tenderness, his love, his meekness. And ideologies are rigid, always. Of every sign: rigid. And when a Christian becomes a disciple of the ideology, he has lost the faith: he is no longer a disciple of Jesus, he is a disciple of this attitude of thought… For this reason Jesus said to them: ‘You have taken away the key of knowledge.’ The knowledge of Jesus is transformed into an ideological and also moralistic knowledge, because these close the door with many requirements… The faith becomes ideology and ideology frightens, ideology chases away the people, distances, distances the people and distances of [sic] the Church of the people.
