믿음을 전복시키기 위하여
여러 가지 모양의 과격한 일들이 생겼다.
지상 성소가 하늘 성소의 모형이라면
지상의 언약궤에 넣었던 율법은 하늘에 있는 언약궤 속에 있는 율법의 사본(寫本)이라는 것을 깨닫지 못할 사람은 아무도 없다.
또한 하늘 성소에 관한 진리를 받아들이고 믿을 것 같으면
하나님의 율법도 당연히 시인하고 넷째 계명의 안식일도 준수하지 않으면 안 된다는 것은 분명한 일이었다.
바로 이것이
하늘 성소에서 행하는 그리스도의 봉사를 나타내 주는 성경 구절에 대한
바른 해석에 대하여
가혹하고 결정적인 반대를 일으키게 한 근본 요인이었다.

Many and earnest were the efforts made to overthrow their faith.
None could fail to see that if the earthly sanctuary was a figure or pattern of the heavenly, the law deposited in the ark on earth was an exact transcript of the law in the ark in heaven;
and that an acceptance of the truth concerning the heavenly sanctuary involved an acknowledgment of the claims of God’s law and the obligation of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment.
Here was the secret of the bitter and determined opposition to the harmonious exposition of the Scriptures that revealed the ministration of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary.
